International Epidemic Preparedness Day is observed every year on 27 December.
The first International Day of Epidemic Preparedness was observed in 2020, based on the call made by the United Nations General Assembly.
According to global health body W.H.O., this day reflects the importance of prevention, preparation, and participation against the epidemic.
In view of the increasing cases of Corona around the world, the United Nations General Assembly celebrated the first International Day of Epidemic Preparedness on December 27, 2020.
Its fourth edition is being celebrated in the year 2023.
The theme of this day for the year 2023 has been 'Legacy of Resilience: Learning from the Past, Preparing for the Future'.
