  • The 5th edition of joint military exercise 'Dharma Guardian' between Indian Army and Japan Ground Self Defence Force commenced today at Mahajan Field Firing Ranges, Bikaner, Rajasthan. The exercise is being conducted from 25 February to 9 March 2024.
  • Exercise 'Dharma Guardian' is an annual military exercise and is conducted alternatively in India and Japan. The contingent of both countries includes 40-40 soldiers. The Japanese contingent is represented by troops of the 34th Infantry Regiment and the Indian contingent is represented by a battalion of Rajputana Rifles.
  • The aim of the exercise is to promote military cooperation and enhance joint capabilities to carry out joint operations in semi-urban conditions under Chapter VII of the UN Charter. The exercise will focus on high level of physical fitness, joint planning, joint tactical drills and special weapon skills.
