Jain Muni Acharya Vidyasagar Maharaj passed away on February 18.
Born on 10 October 1946 at Sadalga in Belgaum district of Karnataka, the famous Jain saint passed away after performing 'Sallekhana', a Jain religious practice.
Vidyasagar Ji Maharaj guided society in all these roles, as an Acharya, Yogi, Thinker, Philosopher and Social Worker. He was outwardly easygoing, simple and gentle, but inwardly hard as a thunderbolt.
Through the work of education, health and welfare of the poor, he showed how the work of service to humanity and cultural awakening can be done simultaneously.
PM Modi and many veteran leaders mourned the death of Acharya Shri 108 Vidyasagar Ji Maharaj.
