Fatima Beevi was the first woman judge of the Supreme Court of the country.
He passed away recently.
She had also been the former Governor of Tamil Nadu.
Fathima Beevi was born in April 1927 in Pathanamthitta district of Kerala.
In 1983, she was appointed judge of the Kerala High Court.
In 1989, she became the first woman judge of the Supreme Court.
She was a judge till 1992.
After retiring from the post of judge, she worked as a member of the National Human Rights Commission.
She became the Governor of Tamil Nadu in 1997.
