Justice Satyendra Kumar Singh has been appointed as the new Lokayukta of Madhya Pradesh, with the ceremony administered by Governor Mangubhai Patel at Raj Bhavan.
The appointment of the Lokayukta is facilitated with the consent of the Leader of the Opposition and the Chief Justice of the High Court, as mandated by the Lokayukta Act.
The Lokayukta serves as an anti-corruption authority at the state level, responsible for investigating allegations of corruption against government officials and ensuring transparency and accountability in public administration.
