Dr. Mohan Yadav, Chief Minister of the state, announced the observation of Hindu Year 2081 as 'Gauvansh Raksha Varsh' (Cow Protection Year) to strengthen cow protection laws and promote the rearing of cows in households.
The state government is providing subsidies and incentives for cow protection, including Rs 500 annual subsidy for each resident bovine, financial support for setting up village gaushalas, and plans to extend subsidies for fodder cutting equipment purchase.
