The Uttar Pradesh cabinet's approval of the Green Hydrogen Policy, 2024, signals a significant step towards sustainable energy production, with a bold target of achieving 1 million metric tonnes of green hydrogen by 2028.
With over ₹1.95 lakh crore earmarked for 19 green hydrogen and ammonia projects, coupled with lucrative incentives such as up to 40% capital subsidy for early investors and substantial power cost rebates, the policy aims to attract investment and create employment opportunities, with an anticipated 1 lakh jobs expected to be generated by 2028.
