REC Limited, a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power and a leading NBFC, was awarded the 'Innovative Technology Development Award' during the IIT Madras Corporate Social Responsibility Conference- 'Building India 2047: Technology for a Better Tomorrow'.
The award has been given for REC's CSR initiative for setting up a 2 MW rooftop solar plant at IIT-Madras.
The award has been conferred for installation of 2 MW rooftop solar plant launched by CSR arm of REC.
This solar plant generates about 31.5 lakh units of clean energy every year, which helps IIT Madras reduce its carbon footprint.
